The Chimes Project
Community Engagement + Event Showcase
Project Lead
The Chimes Project represents a remarkable transformation, breathing new life into Paisley Town Hall's historical carillon – an extraordinary keyboard instrument adorned with an array of bells nestled within the tallest of its twin towers. This ambitious endeavour, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic Environment Scotland, has not only seen the restoration of this iconic instrument to its former splendour, but has also kindled a profound connection with the local community. Through a series of captivating music and heritage workshops, guided by esteemed artists, The Chimes Project has rekindled the town's rich cultural heritage, making it resonate once again with the rhythms of its past, as well as looking ahead to the future.
